Day of action to condemn the Yankee aggression against Venezuela in Finland
”On Tuesday 3rd of February, on the international day of action called for by the Antiimperialist League to condemn the Yankee aggression in Venezuela, we held a rally on the Central Square of Tampere. We held a speech and shouted slogans (such as ”Yankee go home”, ”Down with US imperialism”, ”Comdemn the Yankee aggression in Venezuela”). During the demonstration, we also distributed flyers to passersbys around the Central Square. Despite freezing temperature, several people stopped by to discuss and also joined the demonstration for a while. We concluded with the perspective that Venezuela is not alone and the peoples of the world will unite in the struggle against imperialism and thus the imperialists will eventually be encirled and annihilated.”
According to a report we received, the Red Action organized a presentation on the situation in Venezuela and the crisis of Yankee imperialism in Turku as part of the day of action.
In the presentation, it was put forward that it is not only Venezuela that is on the line, but that it is about deepening the occupation of the whole of Latin America. The contradiction between imperialism and the oppressed nations was highlighted as the main one, also with Venezuela, and claims about ”narcoterrorism” were denounced. Also the role of Finnish imperialism was raised, putting forward that its silence reveals not only its cynical attitude towards the international law but also its true nature, that is, an exploiter and a parasite. The treachery to the interests of its people of the Rodriguez government was condemned.
From the masses, the necessity to build an anti-imperialist front in Finland was raised despite ideological and political differences of opinion, and the founding process of the AIL was greeted. In general, the presentation raised interest and demonstrated the interest of the youth to take political action.

We opened the demonstration by reading the call of the Antiimperialist League for the campaign and the day of action. In the end we shouted slogans from the speeches, such as ”Yankees out of Venezuela, Palestine and the whole world! Yankee go home!” and ”Rise up in powerful international antiimperialist movement!”
