Resistance to the NATO security summit in Munich and loud protest march
The NATO Security Summit, which has been held annually in Munich since 1964, took place this year from 13 to 15 February. At the summit, the imperialist powers discussed and planned their armament policy, the division of markets, and the oppression and exploitation of the peoples of the world. This year, the focus was primarily on new security strategies, political and military coordination between the imperialist powers of the USA and the EU, and nuclear armament. In addition, the offensive and war policies of the new era were planned.
Thousands of anti-fascist, anti-imperialist, revolutionary and democratic organisations took part in the action organised by the Anti-NATO Platform against the summit, which brought together the imperialists and their lackeys responsible for injustice, exploitation and wars around the world. PARTIZAN and AGEB also took part in this action.
The action began with a rally at Stachus Square in Munich after the crowd had gathered. The speeches addressed the division of markets by the imperialist powers and their policies of armament and aggression. It was emphasised that NATO is a hostile instrument of war against the peoples of the world, and a call to struggle was made. Speeches were also made from the podium on behalf of the Rojava Women’s Councils and the Palestine Committee. Afterwards, demonstration marches formed and the march began. The masses from Partizan and AGEB took their place with their slogans both at the rally site and during the march. During the march, slogans such as ‘Long live international solidarity,’ ‘Biji Berwedane Rojava’ and ‘Freedom for Palestine’ were chanted.
Despite the rain and cold, the enthusiastic march ended with a call to intensify the struggle against imperialism, capitalism and NATO, and to found an Antiimperialist League.
