Yeni Demokrat Gençlik Organizes Documentary Screening in Solidarity with the People’s War in India at Bilgi University
As part of the international solidarity campaign announced by the Anti-Imperialist League (AIL), taking place from September 28 to October 6 in support of the People’s War in India, Yeni Demokrat Gençlik (New Democratic Youth)organized a screening of the documentary Operation Kagar: The Final Warning at Bilgi University in Istanbul.
The event began with a political presentation addressing the current political situation, the crisis of imperialism, and the escalating attacks against the Indian people. The discussion examined the history of revolutionary struggle in India, from the 1967 Naxalbari Uprising to the present day, highlighting the attacks targeting Adivasi communities, poor peasants, and oppressed peoples, as well as the role of Maoists in these struggles.
Particular attention was given to the exploitation of India’s natural resources, including the seizure of land, forests, and water by corporations, and the resistance of the Indian people against these attacks.
The presentation also addressed the relationship between the attacks against the Indian people and the broader imperialist-capitalist system, drawing connections between people’s resistance in India, Palestine, Turkey, and other parts of the world.
Following the documentary screening, participants continued their discussions on the ongoing struggle in India, imperialist wars, and the development of revolutionary movements.
The event concluded with demands for the immediate and unconditional annulment of the death sentences imposed on ten Maoist Adivasis by the Jagdalpur NIA Court and an end to Operation Kagar.
Immediately and unconditionally overturn the death sentences imposed on the ten Maoist Adivasis!
Stop Operation Kagar!
Long live the People’s War in India!
Long live our international struggle!
The documentary, translated by Yeni Demokrasi Gazetesi, is available on the newspaper’s official YouTube channel.
