New Activities During the Continental Days of Action in Our America

In response to the International Antiimperialist League’s (AIL) call for Continental Days of Struggle against colonialism and imperialism in Our America, further activities have taken place across the country.
The AIL’s call covers actions from October 12 to 27 in at least seven countries across Our America.
In Mexico, in addition to the mass mobilizations and other actions held on October 12, the AIL-Mexico Organizing Committee has carried out further activities.

On October 15, comrades from the Teozentli Cooperative Project organized a discussion as part of the Comprehensive Learning Model for Health (M.A.I.S.), which they promote in working-class neighborhoods across the region.

The central theme was “Reclaiming Historical Memory in Defense of Our Cultures and Against Neocolonization: Roots, Resistance, and Possible Futures.”
The discussion was organized in coordination with the Sol-Rojo People’s Front and the AIL-Mexico Organizing Committee as part of the Continental Days of Struggle, providing a valuable opportunity for reflection. It took place at the Nahui Mazatl Cultural Commune in Chalco, State of Mexico, and was also streamed via Zoom.

On October 17, the Sol-Rojo People’s Front, Periódico Mural, and the AIL-Mexico Organizing Committee also organized a discussion attended by comrades from various democratic organizations.

The central theme was: “Our America and the Call of the International Antiimperialist League: Challenges and Tasks in the Face of Dispossession, Militarization, Foreign Interference, and Imperialist Aggression.”

The discussion was moderated by comrades from the Class-Struggle Current of Education Workers (COCLATE) and featured two guest speakers who, drawing on academic scholarship and revolutionary activism, connected Martí’s antiimperialist thought to the region’s current situation, highlighting the importance of the AIL’s call.

Comrades from the Popular Student Movement (MEP), the People’s Youth Brigades (BJP), and the June 14 Popular Front actively participated in the discussion. The latter also joined the call for the Continental Days of Struggle.

The discussion took place at the Santa Rosa Community Municipal Office in Oaxaca, the City of Resistance.

The discussion also addressed the broader situation in Brazil, which is engulfed in the structural crisis of bureaucratic capitalism and growing contradictions within the big bourgeoisie. The event concluded with slogans supporting the Brazilian people’s struggle, particularly in solidarity with comrades from the League of Poor Peasants (LCP), who face a campaign of criminalization and repression by Lula’s government, as well as threats from the fascist Flávio Bolsonaro, who has warned that, if elected president, he will designate the LCP a “terrorist organization.”

We will soon report on further actions in Mexico as part of the Continental Days of Struggle against colonialism and imperialism in Our America.
