Actions to form the AIL in Chile
On April 17, the International Day of Political Prisoners is commemorated, and in Chile, specifically in the capital Santiago, a rally was carried out in front of the government palace “La Moneda.” This event later escalated into a people’s protest, resulting in clashes with the police along “Alameda,” the city’s main avenue.
This political action, called by various organizations and families of political prisoners in the country, was also an opportunity for revolutionaries to distribute leaflets which contained part of the program of the Anti-Imperialist League (AIL), calling for the urgent formation of a consistent anti-imperialist organization in Chile. It was a modest action, but one that sought to connect with the masses amid class struggle and people’s protest right in the face of the genocidal, sellout, pro-Yankee, and opportunistic government of Gabriel Boric and his allies from the false “Communist” Party.
We hereby share the text written on the leaflet and the slogans:
“Let’s work towards the formation of an Anti-Imperialist Front in Chile!
The main cause of hunger, deep and widespread poverty, and the endless unjust wars of division is the ruling imperialist (monopoly capitalist) system that rules the world we live in. This system has led the entire humanity into great decline, continuing its existence through exploitation, oppression, and brutal, unrestrained plunder. Humanity must either condemn itself to all the negative consequences of this brutal system of exploitation or send this rotten system to the dustbin of history, where it belongs. There is no other path or intermediate solution.
The Anti-Imperialist League (AIL) defines itself as a direct part of the class struggle and represents one of the two irreconcilable lines of class struggle.
NOT A SOLE DAY MORE IN PRISON!
Some of the goals of the AIL are:
- The Anti-Imperialist League stands with communist, revolutionary, and democratic prisoners and war prisoners who fight for social, national, and democratic liberation, supporting them by all means.
- The Anti-Imperialist League fights against the violent apparatuses (army, police, secret services, etc.) of the dominant structure, which have been created to oppress and control the people (…)
Unconditional freedom for all those imprisoned for fighting!
Anti-imperialists of the world, unite!”
