As part of the further development work of the Anti-Imperialist League (AIL), a large information event took place today in the hall of the Left Centre Stuttgart – Lilo-Hermann-Centre.
One of the events held by the AIL in recent days in German cities such as Leipzig, Cologne and Hamburg was also held in Stuttgart on 3 November 2024 for this specific occasion.
The event, organised by Partizan and Roter Bund, the AIL Germany coordination, began with a minute’s silence. After the minute of silence, the founding principles and goals of the AIL were summarised by the partizan representative, who presented them in both German and Turkish.
The representative of Partizan emphasised that in the face of the increasing danger of an imperialist war, the resistance of all oppressed nations and peoples who are rising up against imperialism worldwide is of decisive importance. He emphasised the necessity of understanding these struggles as a link of the proletariat and the proletarian revolutionary struggle. Support is to be given to the struggles of the working class and the working people in all areas of the world on the road to revolution and socialism, the people’s wars in the semi-colonial countries, and all anti-imperialist struggles that aim to repel imperialist aggression and serve the revolution. He pointed out that the realisation of this work cannot be achieved in a short period of time, but that it can be made possible in a revolutionary way in a long-term process. Marx postulated that the proletariat is an internationalist class and that its liberation will come through international struggle. Therefore, the AIL is open to all organisations, groups and individuals who want to join the anti-imperialist struggle under the slogan ‘All anti-imperialists of the world unite!’ All revolutionary sections were called upon to participate in the founding congress of the AIL planned for 2025. It was also announced that efforts are already being made in about 20 countries around the world to establish relations with the AIL.
The speech by the representative of Partizan was followed by a 20-minute video documentary showing images of mass struggles in Brazil, Mexico, Ecuador and Turkey, as well as solidarity activities with the Palestinian people around the world.
After the film was shown, the representative of the Red League, to the applause of the masses, described imperialism, what is meant by anti-imperialism, and emphasised the necessity of taking up the struggles against imperialism and uniting these struggles with the revolutionary proletarian world struggle.
After that, mother Gülmez, one of the Saturday mothers, was welcomed as an honorary guest at the meeting. In addition, the resistance of the prisoners in the jails was honoured.
After the speeches, the participants were given the opportunity to comment on the contents. After that, questions, criticism and suggestions were received from the participants. The questions were answered and the event closed with the slogan ‘Long live international solidarity’ and best wishes for success.
