In Athens, an international symposium was held on the anti-imperialist and anti-war struggle
The international conference on anti-imperialism and anti-war struggle, organised by the KKE(m-l), was successfully held in Athens on 22 and 23 February. In the context of this conference, a message in English was presented on behalf of the Coordinating Committee of the Anti-Imperialist League, containing an important call for the revolutionary continuation of the international anti-imperialist struggle.
After the TKP/ML speech, the slogan ‘Long live proletarian internationalism’ was chanted.
During the event, participants were provided with AIL brochures and materials and an announcement was made for the AIL’s ‘founding congress’ this year.
In general, the stage of structural crises of the imperialist-capitalist system and intensifying market competition in the world was pointed out and discussed, on the basis of which a consistent anti-imperialist line should be pursued. While some speakers called for the strengthening of the Anti-Imperialist League, the participants emphasised the importance of such events despite differing views on individual questions.
The Indian student movement participated in the event with a video message. After 20-minute presentations by representatives of Turkey, Denmark, France, Colombia, Germany, Malta, Italy and Palestine, messages from the Coordinating Committee of the AIL, Brazil, Mexico, Norway and the ICSPWI were read out.
After the closing speeches, the international marching song was sung and the event ended with applause.
