BASAVA RAJU AND INDIA’S MAOIST IMMORTALS ARE THE RED FLAG OF PEOPLE’S WAR AGAINST IMPERIALISM! WE SUPPORT THE PEOPLE’S WAR LED BY THE CPI (MAOIST) AGAINST THE BLOODY ATTACKS OF IMPERIALISM AND THE INDIAN STATE!
The massacre carried out on May 21, 2025, in India’s Narayanpur region by the fascist Modi regime is one of the bloodiest examples of the war of aggression waged by imperialism against the world’s peoples. The martyrdom of Comrade Basava Raju, General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) and a great commander of the people’s war, along with 26 people’s warriors, is not only an attack on the Indian people but also a multifaceted counter-revolutionary assault directed at the global revolutionary movement, oppressed peoples, and the working class. The lives of Basava Raju and his comrades are living embodiments of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism. They are not merely leaders of one country but pioneers of humanity’s path to liberation. Just as people’s wars across the world have instilled fear in imperialism, the war being waged in India burns as a torch of resistance within the heart of the imperialist system.
The Indian state, with its fascist repression apparatus domestically and with military, technological, and intelligence support from imperialist centers abroad, has targeted the leadership of the people. In this attack, it has sought not only to eliminate revolutionary cadres but also to erase the historical consciousness of resistance among the people.
The operation, known as “Kagaar,” is part of an occupying war waged by imperialists through their local puppets to suppress the people’s war in India. The true purpose of this operation is to crush the rising people’s power in the Dandakaranya region, the liberation struggle of the Adivasi people, and the growing influence of the PLGA (People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army). The fascist Indian state has turned the region into a military base to protect the interests of mining conglomerates, energy consortia, and imperialist investments. Forests have been bombed, villages burned, thousands forcibly displaced, and women, children, and the elderly targeted. Through this massacre, the fascist Indian state has targeted not only the cadres of a communist party but also the will of the Adivasi people resisting imperialist plunder and exploitation, the right to life of peasants, and the people’s war itself.
This is not a war but a strategy of genocide! And behind this genocide stand not only Indian fascism but also the imperialists providing it with economic and military support. This is a direct extermination operation guided, backed, and technologically equipped by imperialism—particularly the United States, the United Kingdom, and other major monopolistic powers. The “Kagaar Operation” is an operation to protect the interests of international finance capital and multinational mining conglomerates! It is the product of the imperialist global system’s necessity to resort to fascist forms to suppress local resistances.
As the Anti-Imperialist League, we view the people’s war as the most advanced form of revolutionary struggle against imperialism and unconditionally support the national liberation, New Democratic Revolution, and socialism struggles of the world’s peoples!
As the Anti-Imperialist League, we once again emphasize: The armed resistance of the people is not only legitimate but also a necessary and strategic form of struggle in countries under imperialist domination! The revolutionary wars of the people against exploitation, occupations, fascism, and imperialist barbarism are the only path where the oppressed rise up, revolutionary leadership unites with the masses, and hope becomes concrete.
The killing of Basava Raju demands that we embrace and further expand the line of struggle against imperialism and the reactionary Indian state.
With this awareness, we declare: Every communist and revolutionary leader targeted by imperialists and their lackeys becomes immortal in the hearts of the people. Every revolutionary martyr is reborn in the collective will of the anti-imperialist resistance, the New Democratic Revolution, and the struggle for socialism.
The killing of Basava Raju is a call to take up the people’s armed struggle against imperialist barbarism even more fiercely!
As the Anti-Imperialist League, it is our duty to expand the international defense of the people’s war and unite the anti-imperialist struggles of the peoples in a common front! The war growing under the leadership of Comrade Basava Raju is not merely an internal issue of India. It is a front in the world revolution against imperialism! And we stand unconditionally and unequivocally alongside the CPI (Maoist), Marxist-Leninist-Maoist leadership, people’s warriors, and all those who resist!
Our Call:
This massacre has once again exposed not only the fascist nature of the Indian state but also the nature of the all-out attack waged by imperialism against the peoples of the world. The imperialist mining conglomerates plundering the Adivasi people’s lands, forests, and culture are the true forces behind this genocide. The fascist Indian regime is merely imperialism’s executioner within!
To all anti-imperialist forces, progressive, and revolutionary organizations: Supporting people’s wars and embracing armed struggles against imperialism at an international level is a vital task. The immortality of Basava Raju is a call for this struggle to spread further!
To all the peoples of the world: This massacre in India is proof of the global nature of imperialist savagery. Silence is complicity in this crime! The fascist Indian state and its imperialist masters must be exposed on the international stage!
To the international revolutionary public: Defending people’s wars and armed resistance against imperialism is the most important task of today. We call on all progressive forces, the anti-imperialists of the world, to provide political, ideological, practical, and moral support to people’s wars!
