Mass May Day Enthusiasm in Germany
Germany: Hundreds of thousands of workers, laborers, women, youth, and refugees took to the streets across Germany on May 1, 2026, against imperialist aggression, exploitation, and the usurpation of rights. This year, Partizan Germany took its place in May Day demonstrations in the cities of Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Munich, Ulm, Hanover, Hamburg, Duisburg, and Wuppertal. During the marches, the founding of the Antiimperialist League (AIL) was saluted with placards and banners carried by participants.
The unjust war policies led by U.S. imperialism and Israeli Zionist aggression were exposed. Those killed in Palestine, Lebanon, and Iran were commemorated with anger, while the aggressive policies targeting Venezuela and Cuba countries that imperialism seeks to suffocate through blockades and encirclement were condemned.
Speeches at the rally grounds emphasized that the burden of the war economy and military investments is being placed on workers and laborers. It was stressed that the purchasing power of workers is steadily declining and that impoverishment is deepening.
In speeches made on behalf of various organizations, the bureaucratic trade union apparatus and yellow unionism in Germany were sharply criticized for their inability to defend workers’ rights and for their conciliatory stance toward capitalist exploitation.
It was stated that the international struggle against the imperialist-capitalist system of exploitation must be strengthened, and it was strongly emphasized that a world without war and genuine brotherhood among peoples can only be achieved through revolutions and socialism.
Nuremberg:
This year’s Revolutionary May Day action began at 11:30 a.m. in Gostenhof-Bauergasse. Thousands participated in the march organized under the slogan against wars, violations of rights, and rising racism. The demonstration, which brought together all revolutionary, socialist, and progressive organizations and groups from Nuremberg and its surroundings, was both massive and enthusiastic.
During the march, supporters of AGEB and Partizan Nuremberg carried flags and placards of the Antiimperialist League (AIL), saluting its founding. In addition, the German-language AIL May Day statement and the Yeni Demokrasinewspaper were distributed throughout the march.
Slogans such as “Our leader İbrahim, İbrahim Kaypakkaya!”, “Long live international solidarity!”, and “Shoulder to shoulder against fascism and imperialism!” were chanted. The march, which passed through the city’s busy streets and lasted approximately three hours, echoed with strong and enthusiastic slogans.
Stuttgart:
This year, May Day in Stuttgart was again marked by two separate marches. Stuttgart Partizan activists first participated in the trade union-organized May Day and then joined the Revolutionary May Day march.
Throughout the march, slogans such as “Long live our Party TKP/ML!”, “Our leader İbrahim, İbrahim Kaypakkaya!”, and “May Day is red and will remain red!” were chanted.
Munich:
Partizan activists took part in the May Day 2026 events in Munich with an AIL (Antiimperialist League) banner, saluting the founding of the AIL and condemning the Kagaar operations in India. Thanks to the Kaypakkaya flags that drew strong interest from the crowd, many new connections were established.
During the march, slogans such as “Our leader İbrahim! Long live our Party TKP/ML, the People’s Army TiKKO, TMLGB!”, “Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, Mao Viva, Viva, Viva!”, “Long live May Day!”, and “Against imperialism and fascism, long live socialism!” were chanted.
