Antifascist and antiimperialist march in Lyon on May 1, 2026!
This year, the Lyon section was mobilized on May Day in a large red march alongside the Communist Youth, the Student Trade Union Federation, Partizan, the Women’s Committee, and the International Antiimperialist League.
We reaffirmed that May 1st is a historic day of struggle for the international proletariat, and that despite attacks from the bourgeoisie, we are ready to defend this date and continue the struggle.
At a time when young antifascist activists in Lyon have been imprisoned, we wanted to express our solidarity with them and to reaffirm the role of the Communist Youth in the struggle against reactionary forces.
A large banner in tribute to the resistance fighter Danielle Casanova was displayed.
Internationalism was at the heart of our demands. We opened the demonstration by recalling our support for our comrades from Partizan who were arrested and subjected to violence in Turkey on this May Day. Numerous slogans of solidarity with the Palestinian, Lebanese, and Iranian resistance were chanted throughout the march.
Finally, a large banner was made against the genocidal Kagar operation in India and in support of revolutionary forces fighting against the old Indian state.
Down with imperialism!
