On May 12, 2026, 14 antiimperialist activists were arrested in Nairobi, Kenya, during a demonstration against the Macron–Ruto meeting. For their opposition to Françafrique and imperialism, the comrades were imprisoned by the government. Five other activists, arrested the day before, have already been tried and face prison sentences.
Among those arrested is our comrade Guylhem, an activist with the International League of People’s Struggle and the Trans Solidarity Organization. Under immunosuppressive treatment, our comrade requires medical care, and his detention puts his life in danger.
The demonstration took place within the framework of PASAI, an antiimperialist and Pan-African summit protesting the neocolonial meeting between Macron and Ruto. Faced with the mobilization of our comrades and oppressed peoples, the Kenyan government once again chose the path of police repression.
Inside government prisons, the arrested activists are detained in horrific conditions, tortured, and in some cases people disappear.
More than ever, our comrades need our support.
We demand:
The release of all those arrested during the demonstration.
Access to medical care for our comrade Guylhem.
The right to legal representation for all detainees.
The Trans Solidarity Organization and the International League of People’s Struggle are calling for a rally this Wednesday, May 13, at 6:30 PM, Place de la République in Paris.
Down with Françafrique.
Down with Imperialism.
Solidarity with the oppressed peoples of Kenya and all of Africa.
