THE EVENT ON THE PEOPLE’S WAR IN INDIA WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!
On June 27, a successful initiative was held, organized by the Collective for People’s Democracy of Naples and its Province and the Committee of Solidarity with Oppressed Peoples and New Democratic Revolutions. During the event, the dossier “India: A Great New Democratic Revolution” was presented, together with the Committee’s proposal calling on all organizations and individuals interested in joining a national campaign in support of the People’s War in India. This campaign is intended to serve as the foundation for a broader convergence around anti-imperialist work in our country.
The presentations by comrades from the Collective and the Committee addressed key issues including the persistence of semi-feudalism and bureaucratic capitalism in India, the genocide of the Adivasis, the caste system, the role of landlords in repressing the peasantry, Hindutva fascism, and the necessity of combating the right-opportunist line that denies the semi-feudal and semi-colonial character of present-day India.
The initiative received international greetings from the Young Communist League (Jeunesse Communiste, France), the Revolutionary Committees (Comités Revolucionarios, Spain), and, within Italy, from the General Secretary of the Basic Multi-Sector Trade Union and the Italian Marxist-Leninist Party (PMLI). The latter attended the event, took part in the discussions, and made a constructive contribution to the debate.
During the discussion, comrades from the participating organizations, as well as independent comrades, agreed on the need to place anti-imperialist action in support of the most advanced fronts of the world proletarian revolution—namely the ongoing People’s Wars—and of national liberation movements, beginning with Palestine and extending to Lebanon, Iran, and Yemen.
Participants also emphasized the destructive role played by Italian imperialism against oppressed peoples, starting with its collaboration with what they described as genocidal governments such as the Zionist entity and Modi’s BJP government. Comrades recalled the military interventions carried out by Italian imperialism from its inception to the present day across various regions of Africa and the Balkans. At the same time, they stressed that this analysis must not overlook the oppression endured by the popular masses of southern Italy and the islands, highlighting the central importance of the Southern Question.
A substantial part of the discussion focused on the need to oppose all imperialist superpowers and powers, whether Yankee, European, Russian, or Chinese imperialism. Participants also discussed the importance of recognizing the Ukrainian people’s right to resist, including against Russia’s imperialist aggression.
Finally, attention was drawn to the recent Congress of the International Anti-Imperialist League, held in Colombia, which participants regarded as a fundamental step toward strengthening the unity of anti-imperialists worldwide.
The organizations present agreed to meet again in order to define a common course of action on antiimperialism and support for the New Democratic Revolution in India.
We invite all organizations that had expressed interest but were unable to attend because of other political commitments to join the process that has now begun. Contributions, endorsements, and proposals may be sent to the following addresses:
