June 13 in Bastia – June 20 in Cagliari: Looking Back on the Second International Antiimperialist Encounters
From Malta to Réunion, from Palestine to the Philippines, more than twenty organizations came together to meet, debate, compare analyses, and share their experiences with the public. The event also provided an opportunity to establish and strengthen lasting ties, turning contacts into concrete actions and future campaigns to be launched, continued, and intensified.
We warmly thank our comrades from UNIGCOM for co-organizing the event, as well as the many international delegations who contributed to discussions on political prisoners, the issue of the mafia, the path forward for the national movement, NATO bases and colonial militarization, and the role of culture in an oppressed nation. We also extend our thanks to the dozens of participants who attended the round tables in Bastia and Cagliari, as well as to the international comrades who sent video and written contributions, especially our comrades from the Palestinian PYO.
To firmly root this event in the reality of our struggle, organizations belonging to the International Antiimperialist League and our campaign against colonial militarization unfurled a banner declaring:
Corsica, Réunion, Kanaky: the age of colonies is over!
