Solidarity Campaign Against Operation Kagaar in Austria
From March 23 to 31, an international solidarity campaign called by the Indian organization FACAM (India: FACAM call for international solidarity) took place. Under the slogan “Stop Operation Kagaar : Support the Revolution in India!”, activities were carried out against the Indian state’s campaign of annihilation.
Joint Statement by Antiimperialist and Revolutionary Organizations
In a statement published during the solidarity campaign by four initiatives and organizations (Joint Statement on the International Solidarity Campaign: Stop Operation Kagaar! Action for Democratic Rights of the People, Arab Palestine Club, Venezuela Solidarity, and Friends of the Filipino People in Struggle), it is stated:
“While the revolutionary movement has suffered heavy blows over the past year, it is nevertheless clear that the more the war against the people intensifies, the more determined the resistance and the defense of the people’s revolutionary goals become. The aim of ‘Operation Kagaar’ the final annihilation of the revolutionary and antiimperialist movement will not be achieved.”
In the statement, the signatories also oppose the recently concluded EU India free trade agreement:
“The imperialists of the EU support this genocide. Their interest in even greater oppression, displacement, and the plundering of the country’s resources has recently been sealed through a new free trade agreement with India.”
Rally Against “Operation Kagaar”
As part of international solidarity, a rally took place on Mariahilfer Straße in Vienna, where various organizations firmly spoke out against Operation Kagaar and against Austria’s cooperation with the Hindu-fascist Modi regime. The “Antiimperialist League” (AIL), an international antiimperialist organization whose founding is expected soon, was also present.
Event and Lecture
As part of the campaign, an event was also held that examined the genocidal Operation Kagaar in more detail. The Indian organization FACAM (Forum against Corporativisation and Militarization) and its work were also presented.
