Revolutionary Activists Burn U.S. Flag During October 16 Protest in La Serena
In the midst of the mass popular protest held on October 16 to commemorate the Caravan of Death, an operation carried out by Pinochet’s fascist military junta and U.S. imperialism against the people and aimed at destroying popular organizations, a group of revolutionary activists burned a U.S. imperialist flag in La Serena, Coquimbo Region.
Through this action, they denounced the role of U.S. imperialism as an aggressor and the general counter-revolutionary gendarme. They also reaffirmed what Chairman Mao Tse-Tung rightly described as a “Paper Tiger”, whose obsolete and rotten system of exploitation can ultimately be swept away through the united struggle of the peoples of the world.
Among the masses and activists, the following slogans were heard:
“Yankees Go Home!”
“Out of Chile, Colombia, and Argentina! Yankees Out of Latin America!”
“When Misery Intensifies, Rebellion Is Justified!”
“No Peace Between Classes, No War Between Peoples! Workers of the World, Unite! We Shall Win!”
The masses also raised slogans honoring the fighters and those executed by the Fascist Military Junta (JMF).
• Rebellion Is Justified!
• Long Live the Antiimperialist Struggle!
• Yankees Go Home!
