Progress in the discussions necessary for the unity of antiimperialists in Medellín

Today, the Forum on the Relevance of the Anti-Imperialist Struggle was held at the University of Antioquia. The event featured eight 15-minute presentations in which various organizations, collectives, and activists shared their perspectives on the current global situation and its implications for Latin America, Colombia, and the local revolutionary movement. Following the presentations, several members of the audience contributed new insights that enriched the discussion.

The forum addressed important and controversial topics, such as the stance towards so-called “progressive governments” and their role in relation to imperialism (are they part of the anti-imperialist front or do they serve imperialism?); the attitude towards agreements with imperialism (are agreements necessary, or are they a form of capitulation?); the current tasks and the path that the anti-imperialist movement in the country must take (program, debates, tasks, actions, etc.); among other important discussions.

Due to time constraints, the discussions remained open, but the fact that the different positions existing within the popular movement are raised is part of the necessary task of forging anti-imperialist unity through ideological-political struggle within the people, and in the heat of practice, mobilization and anti-imperialist action.

Finally, several of the participating organizations and members of the Coordinator of Popular Struggles -CLP, extended an invitation to the National Meeting against Yankee Aggression in Latin America, which will be held soon in the city of Medellin, at the University of Antioquia, on Saturday, February 28 and Sunday, March 1.
