INTERNATIONAL CAMPAIGN FOR THOSE IMPRISONED, TORTURED, AND DISAPPEARED IN ECUADOR:
The crisis that Ecuador is going through strikes the vast majority of the population every day. The old bureaucratic-landowner state places the burden of the bankruptcy of bureaucratic capitalism on their shoulders: poverty wages; unemployment; the high cost of basic necessities, which are beyond the reach of the masses!; and the inability to access the public healthcare system, whether due to a shortage of medical personnel, the lack of medicines, or the deliberate weakening of the system in order to privatize hospitals and the social security system.
In rural areas, the situation is even more critical. Many families face the loss of their land, while others are forced to relocate or emigrate. The peasant masses are constantly terrorized and subjected to attacks through bombings and large-scale military operations. They are being drowned in blood by the actions of the state’s repressive apparatus and criminal mafias.
Added to this situation is the violence perpetrated by criminal groups. Their ties to members of the police and the armed forces are evident.
For its part, Noboa’s fascist regime exploits violence to militarize society, subject it to prolonged and continuous states of emergency and “curfews,” and keep the population in a state of fear, while deepening its policy of surrendering Ecuador to the voracity of U.S. imperialism. The U.S. has viewed the government as one of its staunchest allies in rolling out its plan to implement the so-called “Shield of the Americas,” a new U.S. military doctrine designed to subjugate Latin American countries to its strategic plans.
U.S. interference shows just how far this policy goes. In November 2025, the people rejected, in a referendum, the proposal to allow foreign military bases. Months later, U.S. Southern Command itself announced joint operations by U.S. and Ecuadorian forces on Ecuadorian territory. Today we see them patrolling and conducting military operations throughout the national territory.
U.S. attacks on fishing vessels in the Pacific have resulted in dozens of deaths, missing persons, and captives. The same is true of military operations against individuals “targeted” as members of criminal gangs, who are publicly executed with the direct participation of imperialist troops.
The country has become a vast concentration camp: punitive, militarized, prison-like, and repressive.
The system of surveillance, intelligence, and operational planning is run by Israel through its criminal agencies, such as the Mossad, which- openly and in collusion with the CIA- carries out operations in Ecuador, turning grassroots activists, human rights defenders, union leaders, peasants, environmentalists, indigenous people, and artists into targets of its malicious actions.
Murders (extrajudicial executions) have increased exponentially since the U.S. military began operations there; and not only that: the number of citizens who have disappeared has skyrocketed.
The judicial system has been co-opted by the government to such an extent that the National Court of Justice, the Attorney General’s Office, and the courts have become the enforcement arms of the most infamous persecution campaign in recent times.
They have launched a campaign to criminalize rebellion and grassroots, labor, peasant, and human rights organizations. To this end, they fabricate legal cases against their opponents, charging them with crimes such as drug trafficking, human trafficking, extortion, kidnapping, or terrorism. In this way, they seek to neutralize them through legal means and discredit the political and ideological causes they defend in the eyes of the public.
The government has strengthened the prison system by building a real concentration camp known as the “Cárcel del Encuentro.” Political prisoners are completely isolated; they are held in permanent confinement, with only 30 minutes of exposure to sunlight or time outside their cells, and have no contact with family members or lawyers; they are physically and psychologically tortured; in short, they are deprived of the most basic rights necessary for survival while under the responsibility of the Ecuadorian prison system.
This prison was supposedly designed and built to house the country’s most dangerous and bloodthirsty criminals. But no: it is now a facility where political opponents, critics of the regime, and grassroots activists are detained.
For these reasons, we call on all revolutionary and progressive organizations, as well as defenders of human rights and the rights of the people, to launch a massive international campaign during the last week of October (October 26–30) to denounce, reject, and condemn the imprisonment and persecution of popular activists and all those who oppose this repressive regime.
Let us denounce inthe country and in the world the cruel torture, sexual assault, abuse, isolation, and degrading treatment to which Comrade Omar Campoverde has been subjected in the maximum-security prison known as “El Encuentro”—a veritable concentration camp created and maintained under Zionist doctrine, which today stands as a brutal manifestation of the old Ecuadorian state’s repressive prison policies.
We also denounce the illegal imprisonment of comrade Gabriela Gallardo and Carlos Carguachi, against whom the regime has acted with abject cruelty, in the vain attempt to break their fighting spirit and send a message of intimidation to the people’s activists of Ecuador.
Likewise, we militantly demand that the bureaucratic-landowner state be held accountable for the disappearance of nearly a thousand people, which has left an open wound caused by impunity, repression, and its contempt for the lives of the people.
Let’s make the world aware that, in Ecuador, the old state murders children, as in the case of “the four from Las Malvinas”; it is complicit in the criminal violence that massacres our people on a daily basis; it unlawfully prosecutes grassroots activists; it persecutes, imprisons, and tortures them, and exposes them to imminent death. It also makes them disappear.

STOP THE TORTURE OF OMAR CAMPOVERDE!
IMMEDIATE FREEDOM FOR OMAR, CARLOS, GABRIELA, AND ALL THE REVOLUTIONARIES IMPRISONED IN ECUADOR!
STOP THE PERSECUTION AND CRIMINALIZATION OF
