Successful class-struggle march through the city center in Santiago
The Class-Struggle Workers’ Central and many other trade union, political, revolutionary, and democratic organizations called for and carried out a march of thousands of people to commemorate the day of the working, peasant, and popular classes.
In this march, a group of comrades took part under the Class-Struggle and Popular Coordination as part of an effort to build political unity.
The banners of the new Antiimperialist International League (AIL) and the Antiimperialist Front its Chilean section were also raised, participating in agitation, propaganda, and popular protest.
The youth showed their readiness for confrontation and resistance in the face of the police, and several arrests were reported. Some comrades are expected to be formally charged today with various offenses.
While this mobilization faced strong repression, the other march called by the opportunism of the CUT, now a “worker-selling” central encountered no major obstacles.
Let us remember that the CUT is an organization co-opted by the leadership of the so-called “Communist” Party although at its grassroots there are fair and honest people who want to struggle and that its march brought together the same organizations subservient to the previous government of Gabriel Boric and the Broad Front, which deepened exploitation, enforced anti-land-occupation laws, militarized Wallmapu, and paved the way for the rise of the ultra-reactionary government of José Antonio Kast.
In times when imperialism intensifies its barbarity and its national servants comply with all its anti-people measures, we salute the existence of a combative, revolutionary, antiimperialist sector that fights against revisionism, opportunism, and every anti-people current.
