Cologne – On the 52nd anniversary of the murder of İbrahim Kaypakkaya took place a politic-cultural event with internationalist-revolutionary spirit. Since the 1st of May, in various German cities and NRW, were mobilized for the event of the 17th of May. Posters of Kaypakkaya decorated streets and collective agitation and propaganda material was distributed.
On Saturday itself more then 200 persons participated at the event. A big banner with the picture of the Comrade Kaypakkaya was hung up, and books and information tables, banners with fallen revolutionary leaders, and flags colored the square in red. So that day took place a very special event, on which revolutionary, communist voices been raised to call for the revolutionary struggle; therefore the action wrote history, being success and meaningful and full of revolutionary contents and messages.
Before the commemoration of comrade Kaypakkaya, a demonstration in solidarity with the international week of the forcefully disappeared and the Saturday Mothers took place. The action that was organized by AveGKon, TSP and ICAD was supported by activists of Partizan and the Red League, shouting in solidarity with the struggle for justice: “The mothers’ anger will strangulate the murders! The in captivation disappeared revolutionaries are immortal!” and finishing the event with revolutionary speeches.
The event in memory of the comrade KAYPAKKAYA, the founder of the TKP/ML and until his death the leader of the revolution in Turkey, began shortly after 16:00. Next to him, also all combatants for revolution and communism in Turkey, Turkey-Kurdistan and all over the world, that have been murdered in the month of May been commemorated and a minute of silence was held, that was memorizing all of them.
The event was begun with the singing of the Hymn “Don’t forget the 18th of May!” (anniversary of the murder of Kaypakkaya), that was played by the musical group İSYAN ATEŞİ, and in continuation was greeted with slogans like “Our Leader İbrahim, İBRAHIM KAYPAKKAYA!”, enthusiastically. The representatives of Partizan and ROTER BUND, who organized the event, held speeches and been followed then musical content by the group İSYAN ATEŞİ, the female rapper THARWA and the band ŞARE MA. Accompanied by drums and zurna [Translator’s note: musical wind instrument very popular in Turkey], the mass sang popular songs, hymns of revolution in Turkey and danced together, what attracted a lot of attention on the Wiener square.
There followed more and more various speeches and greets, f.e. by the Central Committee of the TKP/ML, the Founding Committee of the International Anti-Imperialist League (AIL) and the prisoners that are of the TKP/ML. A Representative of the Communist Committee from Netherlands was present and held a combative speech. More greetings and speeches came from the MKP-Europe Committee, the TKİP -Abroad Committee, the Maoist communist Party of Italy and the Union of Maoists from the Urals. To all comrades as well to their contributions for the action, also to all masses and activists, that made this event successful, been expressed thankfulness and repetitively all shouted slogans in spirit of proletarian internationalism.
At about 19.30 the event was closed by the singing of the Internationale in various languages, with slogans and applause. With good weather and a high moral, İbrahim Kaypakkaya, a special revolutionary and founder of the party in Turkey, behind whom still the international proletariat is unifying itself and closes its rows in memory to him.
