DEMONSTRATION AGAINST YANKEE INTERVENTION AND THE ADVANCE OF THE FAR RIGHT
On October 21 at 5 p.m., the Arapuka Movement joined other popular organizations in response to the International Antiimperialist League’s (AIL) call. We engaged with the public, distributing more than 2,000 leaflets and discussing the dangers facing workers, students, and ordinary people: the plundering of our incomes through cuts to rights, rising taxes and prices of basic necessities, and a crushing public debt a process leading toward military intervention unless we put obstacles in its path.
We therefore marched from Saens Peña to the areas around Maracanã and UERJ, reaching the large numbers of workers, students, and residents passing through. We chanted slogans in defense of people’s power and our rights, and against the far right, pressing ahead despite the police’s failed attempts at intimidation.
To stop the far right and imperialist parasitism, especially Yankee imperialism: TAKE TO THE STREETS!
We call on everyone to attend the plenary convened by the International Antiimperialist League (AIL) on the theme: Combating the Far Right and Imperialism!
Monday, October 26, at 6 p.m. — UERJ, 8th floor.
