Commemoration of the 53rd Anniversary of the Coup d’État in La Florida
Saturday’s event was organized by El Bloque. Various organizations shared words of remembrance and struggle regarding the coup d’état that brought the fascist Military Junta and Pinochet to power 53 years ago, with the complicity of the CIA and Yankee imperialism.
The event featured numerous cultural activities, including sales stalls, written propaganda from Estrella Roja Ediciones, visual propaganda by A la Calle AGP, the participation of Comité de Salud Maipú, speeches, music by Rocío Resiste, rap performances by comrades Anommia, Bandera Roja Rap and Sebas Killz, as well as theatre, dance and singing performances by La Ventolera.
An international delegation from the Antiimperialist League, comprising comrades from Sweden and Mexico, was also present alongside Frente Antiimperialista Chile and Cooperativa 17 de Mayo.
Filled with enthusiasm and joy, the event was a success, reminding us that art in the service of the people and the occupation of public spaces are necessities.
