We Gathered for a Forum Under the Slogan “Arm Yourself with Courage, Spread the Rebellion!”
As New Democratic Youth (Yeni Demokrat Gençlik), we held a forum on October 25 to discuss young people’s direct and legitimate struggle, from France to India.
Held under the slogan “Arm Yourself with Courage, Spread the Rebellion!”, the event began with a minute’s silence in memory of those who fell in the struggle for revolution and communism. Those killed by police violence during the protests in France were commemorated. We then read a message of solidarity sent by our sister organization in France, Jeunesse Communiste (@lajeunessecommuniste).
The message stated:
“Communist Youth has actively worked to mobilize, politicize, and organize young people fighting across the country. Our red flag has flown over numerous barricades and increasingly large demonstrations. As revolutionaries, our task is to highlight the necessity of socialist revolution—the only solution for liberating the masses from capitalist exploitation and oppression. We also fight all forms of opportunism, particularly social democracy, which seeks to confine the struggle within certain limits for electoral gain. Our political line toward young people is clear: we are the sons and daughters of the Paris Commune; we will bring it to life again throughout France!”
The forum discussed the rising youth rebellion against imperialist aggression around the world. Participants emphasized how this rebellion once again demonstrates that the masses are turning toward revolutionary struggle, and how vital it is to keep hope and determination alive.
We discussed the lessons and experiences to be drawn from protests spreading across many countries, alongside direct and legitimate struggle and the role of force within it. The forum also addressed the current situation in our country, the tasks and responsibilities we face under these conditions, our understanding of our revolution, and how to strengthen our ties with the masses.
The event ended enthusiastically with chants of “We are all anti-fascists!”
We know that only through organized struggle can we escape this bleak system of exploitation imposed upon us! Through organized struggle, we will strengthen both hope and rebellion.
The future belongs to those who dare to struggle and win!
